Two weeks in

Just under two weeks ago I had a hemi-arthroplasty, that means I had the top of my right arm, the bit which joins my arm to my shoulder cuff (imagine a golf ball in a shallow saucer)replaced with a piece of metal. This after years of pain, restricted movement, heavy-duty painkillers and anti-inflammatories and general reduction in my quality of life. So I took the plunge and had the surgery last week. After googling shoulder replacement I discovered that few, if any people have blogged about what it's like to have the surgery and then the recovery process. So I thought it might be interesting to blog about it. And it might encourage or help others contemplating or having surgery. Here goes. I'll try to blog once a week.
